Simon is a chartered Mechanical Engineer, who has spent over 20 years working on UK railways. His career includes time with London Underground, Angel Trains and the last 15 years with Chiltern Railways. His career highlights include opening a new depot, major re-engineering of older trains and developing engineering graduates & technicians. Simon is currently Engineering Assurance & Development Manager with Chiltern Railways responsible for safety & compliance of the fleet and staff and the introduction of new technology. He chairs the UK Rail Delivery Group, Technical & Standards Forum co-ordinating the work across UK mainline passenger train operators on technical development, research and standards.
