I embarked on my career as a trainee electrician in June 2000, and it has been 23 years since I entered the railway sector. Throughout these 23 years, I have had the privilege to work in the production area, specifically in the commercial passenger service, as a train driver for 8 years.
During this period, I seized the chance to pursue a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, aiming to enhance my technical knowledge.
In 2012, an opening emerged for me to return to Maintenance as a maintenance engineer. Taking on this role, I became accountable for coordinating maintenance activities, overseeing planned rolling stock maintenance, managing staff and resources in the Maintenance Department, and supervising the QSE Systems within the department, among other responsibilities.
Throughout this duration, I actively participated in the certification process and implementation of the radio communications system (DMI900) in accordance with the directive (EU) 2016/798 for the 3500 fleet. Additionally, I played a vital role in the technical team responsible for conducting power tests on the Dynex IGBT prototype integrated into a FERTAGUS train.
Moreover, I contributed to the "Shift 2 Rail" project, which entailed a collaboration with IST (Instituto Superior Técnico) and the University of Huddersfield - Institute of Railway Research, focusing on optimizing the life cycle of train wheelsets.
Since 2019, I have assumed the position of Planning and Maintenance Manager for the FERTAGUS fleet. In this capacity, I am entrusted with the planning of rolling stock maintenance operations and ensuring their traceability. Furthermore, I oversee the safety, operation, and maintenance of workshop equipment, coordinate and control the software system for maintenance management (EAM), develop rolling stock maintenance manuals based on the guidance of the Technical Director, and monitor equipment reliability indicators."
Attentive to the latest trends in the railway industry, I seek to implement new processes, solutions, that can increase the efficiency of internal operations and ensure that every aspect is aligned with the needs and expectations of customers.
